On the way to Bruny Island

We woke up in Hobart and packed up our stuff and began our trip down to Bruny Island.  We had to take a ferry across the water to get there, it was a huge boat that held tons of cars, but the top deck was empty so we just went exploring on the top deck and had a great view of the trip.

It was a bit windy out there on the water, Maeby didn't like that too much.

On the mainland side of the island there were massive sand bars with only a foot or two of water.

We got to our holiday house we were so excited with the view, it looked right out over the Southern Ocean at Adventure Bay. Everything was so green and beautiful.

Notice the wood burning stove...turns out that's the heater for the whole house, and it gets cold on Bruny, especially when the storms roll in...which they did.  It was a bit rustic, but so fun.

The view from across the road just in front of the house.

Going for a small hike in the woods near the beach

Spencer, in his stony stare, captivated by the waves as usual.

Exploring the rocks at Adventure Bay, finding lots of marine life.

Hobart

Our first night in Tasmania was in Hobart. We drove to the hotel, settled in and hoofed it down into the city to check it out and grab dinner. It was such a pretty city with so much stuff to see, we bearly scratched the surface.  But the weather was perfect and we could not have enjoyed it more. This was our hotel right near downtown Hobart. We stayed there one night before leaving to Bruny Island.

We took a walk down the main street towards the Wharf through a beautiful place called Saint Davids Park.

You can see all the houses up on the hillsides, it was so neat looking and very European.

We passed lots of really neat old historic buildings on the way.

On the way down to the Wharf.

We hung out at Saint Davids Park and undwound from the trip and decided to take a few photos becase it was so nice there.  We loved the old sand stone and the old beautiful trees.

Lions or gargoyles guarding the entrance.

Some really pretty flowers growing in the park.

Busted again...this time its going straight to the top.

We went through the Salamanca market place and found some cool art and sculptured fountains.

The kids got out their colored glow stick torches as it got dark. They have been waiting for days to get these out and play with them.  Helps me and Will keep track of them better too in the dark.

Maeby kicking back on the stairs playing a game.
