Horseback Riding

Melanie and I (Mom) went to a Young Womens Fund Raising activity in Wangaratta. Afterwards we went to Penny's house to hang out for the day and ride some horses. Penny has become a very good friend since we have been here.

Melanie is getting good at riding Aussie style. This is the las time we get to ride Millie (Australian Brumbie) since she has been sold.
This is Jane, Penny's daughter taking Millie showing us her stuff. Jane is such a sweet girl, my kids adore her.v

Sandy Beach

Will took Liam, Spencer and Maeby on a little trip out to Boomahnoomanah National Park. This is west of Yarrawonga/Mulwala on the NSW side. I was off at a Young Womens activity with Melanie down in Wangaratta for the day.

This is cute, just marching in a row down the banks of the river.

Liam was catching some air, that little dude is like a tigger, which is a wonderful thing, because his tops are made out of rubber, his bottoms are made out of springs.

Spencer wanted a shot at the glory too.
Hang time was a little too short to capture the action.

Maeby was content to just splash and wade in the water. They had fun skipping stones, floating sticks and just getting wet. They must have been freezing, what was dad thinking? Has he forgotten it's winter here?

Father's Day Number 1

"Hey, you guys wanna go do just a little 4 wheeling on the way home? C'mon, lets do it, it'll be fun!"...yeah some fun, we were stuck in soft dirt in less than 5 minutes, but it took over an hour to dig us out! Happy freaking Fathers Day!

Yes, that is Will's only suit, his nice dress shoes and an improvised shovel that did absolutely nothing for our predicament. Notice the nice layer of red Aussie mud on everything.

"I will just dig here to loosen it up and we will be on our way." Yeah right!

Liam was being a good helper, and who do you think gets to clean up Mr. Helpers church clothes once they are covered with mud? Lucky me, this day just keeps getting better and better.

Are we there yet?

Yup, that's the ground, touching the bottom of the car and yes that's as far as the door would open, after digging with the "shovel".

Ooooooh Daddy, you are in so much trouble! Get me outta here!

Maeby trying to make a mad face, after all, we had already been in the car for 45 min prior to this adventure.

Look! A real shovel. Will ran to the nearest houses and stole a shovel, a real shovel. I am glad it finally dawned on him that the other one wasn't doing the trick. And notice the wool suit pants, living their last few moments as "Church" pants, but hey, now they are holy, guess we can still send him to church in them eh? And yes, we returned the shovel.

Yep, it gets better, it stared to rain! Luckily, Will was able to get some help to pull us out before it got too bad. We were all laughing so hard, including Willy, who will probably be embarrassed by this post. (there goes another corner of his Man Card) But that's okay, lets all look back and laugh at this. Here is our rescuer, Dan who also has a 4 wheel drive, and probably a very poor opinion of Americans off road skills.

Moooving Art

We drove to Shepperton for the day, its a farming/sheeping town about an hour west of Yarrawonga, just to see what was there. We found this sign on the way and had to take a picture of it. If you need glasses to read it... it says Dookie.
In town there was a ton of painted cows, the kids had blast running around looking at them. Maeby had so much fun, she is always asking if she can go back to play with her cows.

Don't try comparing this cow to the others, its apples and oranges.

This one's all dolled up for a night out on the town

Liam got a drink from the Kelly Cow. Ned Kelly is famous here like Billy the Kid, or Jesse James. He was a notorious outlaw that killed lots of people, robbed lots of banks and generally just did bad things that hurt people. I can't figure out why he is a celebrity, he was a really bad Bad Guy. But he did build a suit of armor to stop bullets when he was robbing banks and trains and it worked really well.

This was Melanie's favorite, a feline bovine.
Spencer found a sweet web slinging cow.

Spencer though he was funny pretending to drink from the cow. After that the other kids joined in too. Unfortunately this cow was bone dry...ha-ha-ha, bone dry...ehhhh.

Will has a thing for Mermaids. But this ones a total cow.

Mel loved this one, I hope she doesn't Fall...get it, Fall! ha ha...ehhhh. Yeah, I know, its getting old, but there were lots of cows, this was only a few.
