Movie World

Day three we went to the Movie World theme park while at the Gold Coast and one of the shows was called Hollywood Stunt Drivers. Liam and Spencer were selected to play a little part in the movie they made as part of the show. We were all so excited.

Here they are on the big screen. My little movie stars.

Here they are pointing saying to the cops "they went that way!"

Lunch Time

Liam watching a big screen show while we ate lunch. Notice the sign says "please keep off".

Tadaaaa, all done.

Grrrrrr, oim a toigahh, feel it, work it...

We got to watch a live filming of a Batman segment, then they replayed it on the big screen to see how they turn the action scenes into movies. It looks way cooler and more real on the screen than in real life.

Although I have to admit it was cool watching Batman kick some ninja butt.

The new Mystery Gang. Spencer is a shoe in for Scrappy Doo.Just hanging around

The Flash was cool, the Green Lantern was a total Dork.

Tasmanian devil so far from Tasmania, hmmm?

Spencer has The Taz all trained up for the show.

Maeby and Melanie had a blast on the little bumper cars, but Maeby kept getting mad when other kids kept bumping into her pretty pink car.

Maeby makes friends instantly, these two were so animated it was hilarious.

Weeeeeee!

This was Melanie, Liam,Spencer and Mom cruising by on the only roller coaster Melanie would ride.

Sea World

Day 2, we headed just down the road from our Condo in Main Beach and spent the day at Sea World. It was no San Diego, but it was still really nice and the kids loved it. They had a handful of rides for little kids, and a couple for big kids and adults, but nothing really for Spencer's "size". Maeby was in heaven, Spencer was lost somewhere in between. Poor stumpy little fella - That was Will's line.

There were Sesame Street Characters that put on a show, it was Maebys favorite thing of the day, then a little later on we ran into Grover and some orange chick-monster he was chillin with. Maeby was pretty excited, I think Spence was too although he wouldn't admit it.

This was Spencers favorite ride that he was tall enough for. He and Dad raced everyone to the top and won...according to Spencer.

Uh, you got something stuck in your teeth there mister.

Watching the trainers feed the dolphins.

Some of them were really friendly and swam right up to us and poked their little snouts out of the water to say hi.

Spencer dropped his sunnys in the dolphin pool and we had to have the staff come and fish them out before one of the dolphins ran off with them. Last thing we needed was to get kicked out of Sea World because some dolphin was swimming around wearing a pair of sunglasses.

Melanie loved the dolphins, doesn't she look happy. The second she saw that we had the camera turned on her, that content face was gone, good thing we acted quick. Its like a covert spy operation, trying to get photos of Melanie with a smile on her face.

I think for everyone the dolphin show was the highlight of the day. We were all amazed to see what they could do. It was so cool.

If you look close, you can see me and Liam in the second row from the front speeding by on "The Cork Screw". That was a fun ride and it lived up to its name.

This was a pool full of sting rays and you could pet them as they swam up to the edge along the wall, it was cool they would just let you rub them as they swam there.

This ride was weird, it was full of all sorts of strange displays and spacey stuff that is supposed to represent things lost in the Bermuda Triangle. Some people are so off their rocker...who comes up with this stuff?

Spencer and Liam on the log ride with Dad, they got splashed pretty good. Melanie would have hated that ride, good thing she didn't go.

Australian Outback Spectacular

We had a fantastic vacation planned for the Gold Coast of Australia, a little bit of something for everyone. Unfortunately almost all of the first day was used up waiting for dense fog to clear out of the Albury airport. Our flight was supposed to leave at about 8:00am, we sat till after 12:30pm, missing our connecting flight in Sydney. Luckily we were able to book another one for that afternoon that got us out to the Gold Coast just in time to make it to our Show. It was pretty stressful all day, not knowing if we were out several hundred bucks and a full day of vacation, but it turned out alright. We went straight from the airport to the Outback Spectacular Dinner Show. It was great, all of the kids loved it, but Melanie was completely lost in it. It was great to see them all so happy and so absorbed in the event. It was pretty amazing what they had done in just a small arena. Here are some photos from the show.

Rounding up the cattle on horseback and by chopper, the old days and the new working together. The helicopter was obviously a prop, but it looked (and sounded) real, especially to kids. The whole thing was an immersing experience with the lighting and the sound effects and the live animals, plus the food was awesome.

This was just a cool photo they had there.

This was just a cool photo they had there. They call pickup trucks "utes" here.

They had these really cool horse stunts too.

Here we are, the Happy Outback Posts, wrapping up a long, uncertain but memorable day.
