Bruny Island Adventure Cruise

We scheduled an adventure cruise to see the seals, dolphins and amazing rock structures around the southern part of Bruny Island.  It was out in the open water of the southern ocean and the waves were huge.  At least they seemed huge to us desert dwellers...when one moment all you can see is a wall of water in every direction and the next you feel like you are on a tower of water, the the swells are huge.  It was a pretty amazing experience, pretty tame in the bay and along the coast line but out in the water....  The animals and rocks and waves and blow holes and catching air on the waves and the boat driver gunned it across the water.

The big kids (Mel and Liam) were up front raising their hands as we splashed and jumped our way across the water...Maeby had to join in too. Weeeeee!

Spencer had fun with it too.

There are Spencers hands, and up in the front you can see Mel and Liam with their hands up.

These were two tiny rock islands a mile or two from the southern tip and they were covered with seals.

This was a blow hole that was a cave right at water level, as the swells came in it filled the cave and blasted out water with a thunderous sound and a spray like Old Faithful.
