Cadbury Chocolate Factory Hobart Tasmania

The original Australian Cadbury Chocolate Factory is located in Hobart Tasmania.  Definitely one of the top items on our list was to go to the chocolate factory and since today was cold and rainy, it was the perfect day for an indoors activity. As soon as we entered, there was a huge treasure chest full of big Cadbury Dairy Milk chocolate bars, each of us was allowed to grab one to eat or take with us.  Oh yeah, tons of chocolate, what a score! Too bad we couldn't take it all home!

Here you can see Small Scott basking in the glory of  a chest of chocolate.

There were several silly sculptures made from chocolate.

Spence has his chocolate bar, his day is complete, the rest of the tour was just extra fluff.

Spencer standing by some older and more modern photos of the cadbury factory.

Liam exploring the different areas inside.

Special delivery!

Will found a Cherry Ripe sign, one of his favorite Aussie treats.

Here he is by one of my favorite, Caramello Koala - Get out of the way Will!

We got to see a chocolate making demonstration, some was a video and some was live, where they showed us all of the steps to making chocolate from harvesting cocoa beans to eating delicious chocolate.  They poured some in molds and we got to sample.

Spencer and Liam getting samples of the different parts of chocolate, the cocoa powder (yuck), the cocoa butter, sugar etc.  They components are much better together, trust me.

We had a snack and went to the gift shop, during our break Maeby got to do some coloring.

Freddo Frog, yummy chocolate friend

And my favorite, Caramello Koala, delicious chocolate and caramel friend.

Me and Mel just enjoying the fun factory...sadly, we saw no Oompa Loompas.

Another one of those guide dog donation banks.
